Mankind is the Children of Adam(Bani Adam,) as the Quran teaches, God has chosen us;

And when your LORD said to the Angels, "I am going to place in the earth a Ruler," They said: "What, will you place in it one who will make mischief in it and shed blood, and we celebrate Your Praise and extol You Holiness?" He said: "Surely I know what you do not know." And He taught Adam all the names, then presented them to the Angels; then He said: "Tell me the names of those if you are right." They said: "Glory be to You! We have no knowledge but that which You have taught us; surely You are the Knowing, the Wise." He said: "O Adam, inform them of their names." Then when he had informed them of their names, He said: "Did I not say to you that I surely know the future of the heavens and the earth and (that) I know what you manifest and what you hide?" Surrat ul Baqarah, 2: 30-33

Obviously, we weren't the first creations with intelligence or the Angels would not object to God's plan of making a ruler in earth. Why would the Angels say we would commit mischief and shed blood??? Maybe the Angels were aware of the following;

Surely We offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they refused to take it and feared from it, and Man took it; surely he is unjust, ignorant. Surrat ul A'hzaab, 33:72

But if the Angels knew that, which they obviously did, they had every reason to object to it! However, it is only the ignorance of the created to question the Creator. Angels did not know that not all of man would be wicked and that some of them would be submitters to God alone, as Adam is in the story! So, how come you don't remember choosing the Trust(which, by the way, is God's trust upon all of us to make the choices in life!)? Same reason you don't remember the following conversation with God;

And when your LORD brought forth from the children of Adam, from their backs, their descendants, and made them bear witness against their own souls: "Am I not your LORD? They said: 'Yes! We bear witness.' Lest you should say on the day of resurrection: 'Surely we were heedless of this.' Or you should say: 'Only our fathers associated others (with God) before, and we were an offspring after them: Wilt Thou then destroy us for what the vain doers did?'" Surrat ul A`raaf, 7:172-173

Obviously, you don't remember that, either! Nor do you remember that you were with God last time you slept to recieve your daily bread;

And He it is Who takes your souls at night (in sleep), and He knows what you acquire in the day, then He raises you up therein that an appointed term may be fulfilled; then to Him is your return, then He will inform you of what you were doing. Surrat ul An`aam, 6:60

So there is alot that happens in our world that we are not aware of! We may be rullers in earth, but we are no gods! But God loves us and honors us and have chosen us above all creations! And for that, we thank the LORD;

And surely We have honored the children of Adam, and We carry them in the land and the sea, and We have given them of the good things, and We have made them to excel by an appropriate excellence over most of those whom We have created. Surrat ul Israa'a, 17:70
